Donny played for 17 years in the NL Senior Hockey League winning 5 Herders and was a 6 time Provincial Defencemen of the year recipient. Additionally he played for 4 years in the Maritime Junior A League winning Rookie of the Year honors. As a coach, Donny brings a style which is well respected in the local area for its passion, dedication to hard work, and player development. Most recently Donny has lead teams to championships both at the Provincial Level and in the USA. He looks to continue that winning tradition with the Rock Devils.
Drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1998, Morgan brings an advanced skill set, knowledge of the game and breadth of experience to the Rock Devils program. His professional career spans several seasons highlighted by 3 years with the Quebec Major Junior Moncton Wildcats, and 3 years with the AHL’s St. John’s Maple Leafs.
Named an inaugural inductee for Rugby Canada ‘s Hall of Fame and was inducted into the Newport Rugby Hall of Fame. Additional honours include being Named third-best prop in the world by World Rugby Magazine in 1999, British Writers’ Player of the Year in 2005, and the Sports Newfoundland and Labrador’s senior male athlete of the year in 1995. Rod’s knowledge of elite athletic training is a definite advantage for all our players leading them to advanced physical fitness and healthy living habits.
As a player Jamie is a 6 time Herder Champion with over 20 years experience playing senior hockey, and won the Rookie of the Year in the St John’s Junior Hockey League and Hockey NL Senior Rookie of the year award. In coaching Jamie has excelled as well, winning the AAA Bantam Provincial title as an assistant coach and led the Southern Shore Senior team to first place and League Championship as Player Head Coach in the 2014/15 season.
